Best
Headphone Amplifier Again!
What Hi-Fi? BEST HEADPHONE AMPLIFIER for the third year running! The Novo
Headphone Amplifier is one of "the top 100 products you can buy - the best
kit in the world today!" says What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision.
Novo
Discrete Headphone Amplifier
A headphone amplifier constructed from discrete transistors - a "luxury"
usually reserved for the High-End, but available to you for only £212.75 (ex
VAT). Unbelievable? But amazingly true!
(please note: volume control is now silver)
Inherent headphone protection from damaging DC currents comes as standard
with every Graham Slee headphone amplifier.
The
Novo headphone amplifier beat the similarly priced Lehmann Rhinelander, Creek OBH-21SE
and Project Headbox SEII headphone amplifiers in the April 2009 What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision
Group Test..
"...performance
has to be the most important factor, making this test-express a head to
head between the Lehmann and the Graham Slee - and for us it has to be the
Novo... "
[Graham Slee Novo, What Hi Fi? Sound and Vision, April 2009]
It
then scooped the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Best Headphone Amplifier
award 2009
"The Novo has a wonderfully open sound, and paints low level detail with a
fine brush"
[Graham Slee Novo, Accessories, Best Headphone Amplifier, What Hi-Fi?
Sound and Vision, Awards 2009]
And again in 2010 and now again in 2011
"Give this feisty little amp a good running in period and it'll really
shine, serving up a well-balanced sound that features crisp treble, warm
and emotive midrange and a springy, supple bass to add substance."
[Graham Slee Novo, Accessories, Best Headphone Amplifier, What Hi-Fi?
Sound and Vision, Awards 2011]
The Novo headphone amplifier has a single chained phono (RCA) jack input
allowing you to drive it from your favourite music source and then run
another interconnect on to your main amplifier. It can also be fed from a
preamp output or recording output.
Dynamic headphones of between 16 Ohms
and 600 Ohms are driven to similar volume levels and the full rotation of
the volume control can be used to make up for differences in headphone
sensitivities.
With very sensitive headphones the Novo headphone amplifier
volume control should be used with care to avoid hearing damage.
"Green" As Standard

The Novo headphone amplifier is supplied as standard with an energy
efficient power supply complying with world carbon reduction targets.
The Novo headphone amplifier can also be used with the
PSU1 power supply
(available for separate purchase) for those wanting a traditional
(but more power hungry) linear power supply.
